The scene that the character was researching when she went to the hospital. The kind of research that was going was about keeping human cells alive while outside the body. This help the character with his or her goal because if they can keep human cells alive outside the body, he could probably keep human cells inside the body. It also, help the character proves it theories. The research is related to personal experience because it deals with a person moment to moment experience in life whether their healthy or not. The research is related to personal goal because the research is based on proving a theory. Lastly, the research relates to personal desire because it’s something that a person in it’s mind wanted to do.
There is a scene when Rebecca Skloot wanted to help Deborah find out what happen to her sister who was put into a mental house around her early teen years. The researched they used was 1st source information which was actual documents from the mental hospital. This helped Deborah somewhat feel at ease for all these cells put her family through. This also helps Deborah see the truth about her sisters death and how much she may have endured at a young age. This research not only help the daughter of whom cells were taken but, it also helped Rebecca understand that it was rough for African Americans back in the day. Rebecca seen that dirty truth on how it may feel to be African American and not as fortunate at the time. Rebecca also seen that no matter how things rough got for Henretta people always gave to her even on her death bed. Rebecca and Debroah realized that even though they lost their mother so many other people in life gained a chance to live due to her.
