I think there is merit to the five-paragraph essay. The way I think about it is, introduction, three reasons, and a conclusion. Each paragraph is a reason. I think it could be made into four paragraphs. Maybe two reasons, and another reason in paragraphs. Three reasons in those paragraphs.

I see here that you like the structure of the five paragraph method. It is useful though to consider what alternatives there are to this method even if you’re not interested in trying it out.
