Writing an auto-ethnography for the first time in my life. The question is, where am I going to write it? This tends to be the struggle for a lot of students, finding a place to do your assignment so you will not be easily distracted and notice how the Knicks franchise is being run so goddamn poorly OH MY GOD THEY TRADED PORZINGIS WHAT ARE THEY DOING? Wait hold up, what was I talking about? Oh yeah, writing. So, finding a place to write can maybe be difficult but in a sense it can also be very easy, because writing is something that can be done virtually anywhere. The problem for me is dealing with distractions. My phone does not help as the constant notifications and also the fact that I have 5 tabs open of Adam Levine in google images, but that is besides the point. Now that I have to do this assignment, I have to figure out where I am going to get this thing done with the most efficiency possible.

Ok so let’s open up google maps and figure out how I am going to get to my location to write my auto-ethnography. Well I guess the first thing I would want to do is step outside my apartment door and then descend down two flights of stairs. Then I would exit through the building doors and then I would head southeast on Bedford Park Blvd toward Bainbridge Ave. The next thing I would do is turn right onto Dr Theodore Kazimiroff Blvd/Southern Blvd. Ok so far, so good. The next steps is for me to take a slight left onto Crotona Parkway. After that, I would turn left onto Bronx Park South. Next I would turn right onto Boston Road. Then I turn left onto East 180th street. After that, I would take a slight right onto Rosedale Avenue. This would be followed by me turning left onto the Cross Bronx Expressway and then turn left onto White Plains Road. I would then turn right onto McGraw avenue and then turn right onto Metropolitan avenue. When I get to Hugh J. Grant Cir, I take the third exit onto East 177th street. Finally, a right turn onto Castle Hill avenue. Woah, it’s my elementary school that I went to. That was quite difficult to accomplish because google maps always changes its mind on which direction I am facing and where I am actually supposed to go. It can be quite annoying, but at least I made it.

Now, this is actually not the final destination! We have a few more steps to go. What we are going to do now is head north on Castle Hill Ave toward Watson Avenue.  Followed by a left turn onto 177th street. Then, at Hugh J. Grant Cir, take the 3rd exit onto Metropolitan Ave. Then comes a left turn onto McGraw Avenue, and another left onto White Plains Road. Next I am gonna turn right onto Cross Bronx Expressway, turn right onto Rosedale Avenue and continue to East 180th street. Next comes a right turn onto Boston Road. Next I am going to turn left onto Bronx Park South, turn right onto Crotona Pkwy, and then a slight right onto Southern Blvd. This is followed by a slight left on Southern Blvd and lastly a left turn onto Bedford Park Blvd. “What’s this?”, you might be asking. I appear to have ended up back where I started. You would be correct in thinking this because that is exactly what happened. Yes, thats right, I am going to write my auto-ethnography at home. Why here when I can write it anywhere else? Well, it is because I am lazy. Why did I write the directions to my elementary school and then the directions to go back? Well, it is definitely not because of the word limit. I write basically all my essays and assignments here and it may be because of the fact that I feel the most relaxed at home so I can just write without worrying about anything. I usually just sit here listening to music while doing whatever the assignment is. I even made a playlist for when I am doing homework and I basically kept out any hype songs (sorry, Lilliam Pumpernickel) because I do not want the music to be too distracting. So yeah, you can find me at my house while on my computer typing away while listening to “Needless to say, I keep her in check. She was all bad-bad, nevertheless. Callin’ it quits now, baby, I’m a wreck. Crash at my place, baby, you’re a wreck.” (Shoutout to the real ones who know the song)
