My Timeline Synthesis

Based on the events that I had listed in my timeline, I can conclude that I had to move around between two countries constantly throughout my childhood. My ways of dealing with the childhood experiences I had while moving and what that has taught me while growing up is what I had focused on in my autoethnography. The timeline listed the places I would move to and what I would be doing in general during that time, such as being in second grade in the Chevy Chase area in Maryland, followed by my moving to Virginia a year later. While these movements each had their unique challenges and attributes, the overall theme that can be stated of them was is similar – that constant change taught me how to value the things that do stay with me, and how to prioritize what is important. Life is constant change for everyone to a certain degree, and one of the most important lessons we learn growing up and well into our adult lives is how to deal with that change, and how to accept it.

I agree, life is all about change. When you reference learning to value the things that you take from place to place, I wondered what things stay with you when leave one place and move to another? Maybe there’s a connection in what you take from Maryland and Virginia.
