Please post outlines for your literature review #1 here. You should include paragraph starters within this outline. I’d prefer the outline be within the body of your post (i.e. not an attachment).

According to class’ definition, literature review is a piece of writing in which you survey the literature that’s out there on a certain topic, evaluate the literature’s credibility, and synthesize the literature to support your own thesis statement. In other words, literature review seeks writer to perform researches concerning a specific theme or topic. And its purpose is to show to readers why the investigation of the writer is important.

Important elements to consider when doing a literature review are:

      • Summarize is an important term in a literature review. It is to break down the main ideas or points of a reading/source. But, it is noteworthy that writers must keep an eye on that summarize is different than synthesize.
      • Synthesize: is the most important term in a literature review. It is to combine different parts to become in one whole. For synthesize the writer shall identify common theme, problem, characteristic in the readings.
      • Describe, explain and summarize the writer’s main idea. Likewise, giving and analyzing examples that support the writer’s thesis.
      • Evaluate the articles to check whether articles are clear, support writer thesis and they are truthful.
      • Review American Psychological Association (APA) guidelines: is a style of format to write papers. It consists of three parts overall format, in text citation style, and reference page.

Thank you for this very useful description of the literature review. Please make sure you’re “quoting” when you’re using my exact words– OR when using ANYONE’s exact words.

Americans today tend to believe that Obama becoming president in 2008 caused Republicans to become more racist. In fact, Republicans felt empowered by the black vote and pushed for more of the white population to cast their votes to be equal to those of other races.

Although Coutler claims that most wildfires are initiated by illegal immigrants, it is an absurd claim that fails to take into consideration the impact common unattended campfires has on the initiation of wildfires.

While Coutler does not say do directly, she apparently assumes that illegal immigration is currently the greatest threat to the well being of America. However, she fails to recognize the powerful impact they have on the economic workforce.

Many may argue that the illegal plantation of marijuana in the States is the result of Mexican immigrants. However, that is a false statement that doesn’t take into consideration the growing numbers of common people growing illegal marijuana in their own facilities, primarily in the states that have currently legalized it.

Anderson argues that the government is out to stifle the non-white vote. I agree with this based on the measures taken to stop Blacks and Hispanics from casting their ballots.

Coulter blames the environmental problems in America on Hispanic immigrants citing faulty research to back it up. Her facts are wild allegations backed up by false information and exaggerated claims.

      Thesis –

Coulter states that immigration is the main cause of environmental destruction, but she fails to realize that you can’t blame them solely because there are many other causes for the destruction of the environment.

Many people tend to believe that immigration is the cause for environmental damage. This is not true because immigration can not be solely blamed for the damage that has been occurring to our environment because all humans on cause damage to the environment.

      1. While Carol Anderson does not say so directly, she apparently assumes that Conservatives oppose the progression of black people in America.
      2. The standard way of thinking about racial division is that white people are seen as more superior than black people. I agree because white people try so hard to prevent the progressions of black people in America.
      3. Americans today tend to believe that black people are being mistreated and not being treated equally compared to white people. I agree because Carol Anderson points out the fact that Conservatives to any and everything to slow down the progression of black people.

While Ann Coulter assumes that immigrants from Mexico are who to blame for most of the Arizona wildfires, it can be proven that the wildfires were actually caused by campfires and not immigrants like she claims.

Coulter argues that bringing in immigrants from a third world has effect on the U.S. environment. However, she does not consider that these people are not necessarily uneducated, but they have a different background. Nonetheless,  immigrant people can learn how to preserve the environment, they can contribute with they own knowledge, and they can help the country to grown.

#1. According to Anderson, black discrimination has been a thing that has surface over and over. Even though, discrimination is now illegal. There are still ways people pursue it and get away with it.

#2. Anderson states, that there always been a wage gap between whites and African Americans. Even though jobs should not discriminate over the years the gap has increased.

#3. Communities of color were far more likely to have riskier, higher interest rate loans than white communities, Anderson states. Even though people of color have worked towards good credit scores, their color is still stereotyping them.

      In-Class Thesis Statement

The author states that having a black president would essentially lead to a more accepting and tolerable community. This, unfortunately, is false as the diversity in power and representation has lead to a more riled up white population attacking people of other races.

Coulter believes that Mexican immigrants are responsible for ruining Americas environment. Although it is true they have weed farms in our national parks, the information she provides that blames the whole Mexican community for park fires, street trash, and unemployment rate is not valid and not credible.

Ann Coulter thinks that the sheer numbers of immigrants tromping into the country cant help but to harm the wilderness areas. While the increased number of immigrants may lead to destruction of the wilderness, she fails to see the help they will have in the growth of industries because more people will be available for employment opportunities.

Racists believe that immigrants have negative effects on America. Coulter is one of them to believes one of those effects are the ones immigrants have on the environment. While they might contribute to the downfall of the enviroment, natural born Americans also contribute to the downfall of the environment as well.

Colter argues that illegal immigrants are to blame for the fires set national parks, when in fact, those fires were set by the rotation of daily campers who range in a variety of legal statuses.

Ann Coulter thinks immigrants are ruining America’s environment. While it may be true that the environment isn’t as well kept as before, immigration shouldn’t be put to blame. Americans as well don’t take care of their environment.

      Climate Change

In the past few years a lot has been discussed about climate change. Climate change may refer to a change in earth’s average weather conditions, or in the time of the weather varies within the context of long-term conditions. Climate change poses as one of the most serious threats to the global environment ever faced in human history. The temperature of the earth is rising at nearly twice the rate was 50 years ago. Scientists have concluded that the global warming and climate change cannot be explained by natural cycles alone. The presumable way to explain the climate change is the effect of greenhouse gases (GHGs) emitted by humans. The probable causes of the GHG is the high demand for meat consumption. Harvey (2016) argues in “Eat less meat to avoid dangerous global warming, scientists say” in the past few decades, emissions related to agriculture and food production are probably to account for about half of the world’s carbon dioxide emission. Aleksandrowicz, Green, Joy, Smith, and Haines (2016) assert in “The Impacts of Dietary Change on Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Land Use, Water Use, and Health: A Systematic Review” that food production is the principal cause of GHG emissions. Meyer and Closa (2017) explain in “Eat as If You Could Save the Planet and Win! Sustainability Integration into Nutrition for Exercise and Sport” agriculture contributes largely to climate change, with animal-based foods playing a major role in greenhouse gas emissions. Many scholars believe that meat consumption is related to the GHG emission and a change in diet is necessary. That said, there are very good reasons for giving up meat consumption or at least lower it. Perhaps the best reasons are because animal-based have an intense environment impact, eating less meat can help reduce the greenhouse gases emission, ………….

The second literature review, I will different from the first literature review in many ways. First, there must be a claim that needs to be argued in the review. Also, the claim given must be supported by an evidence, fact, example or testimony backed up with a quotation from the sources used. Furthermore, the credibility of the source must be evaluated directly or using another source. Then your stand on the source is to be determined. i.e. if you agree with the source or disagree. Its all about reviewing sources to evaluate their credibility.
